Hymn “The First Noel, the Angel Did Say”       Miriam, Stephanie, Kathie, Chelsea

The first Noel, the angel did say, was to certain poor shepherd in fields as they lay;
in fields where they lay keeping their sheep, on a cold winter’s night that was so deep.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, born is the King of Israel.

They looked up and saw a star shining in the east, beyond them far,
and to the earth it gave great light, and so it continued both day and night.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, born is the King of Israel.

Call to Worship                                                                    Pastor Stephanie Schneider

Our Savior’s birth is celebrated with bold faith.

May our hearts be willing.

Like Mary, who showed humble surrender:

May our hearts be willing.

Like Joseph, who exhibited unconditional trust:

May our hearts be willing.

Like the shepherds, who displayed awestruck wonder:

May our hearts be willing.

Like the angels, who sang glorious praise:

May our hearts be willing.

For all who are willing to receive the gift of the Savior born in Bethlehem:

Grant that we might have the peace of Christ as we wait, the love of Christ as we act, and the grace of Christ as we speak. Amen

Intro to Light of Candles                                                     Pastor Stephanie Schneider

Christmas is a time of wonder-the wonder of Jesus;

God-with-us; the Promised One, the light of the world, the Holy One of God

On this holy night we light the Christ-candle and we wonder:

Is Jesus really here?

We light the Christ-candle and we wonder:

Jesus is really here!

We light this Christ-candle and we know

God is with us, the Promised One has come, the light of the world breaks through the shadows, the Holy One of God brings peace, hope, love and joy.

Hymn “Go Tell It On the Mountain”            Miriam, Stephanie, Kathie and Chelsea

Chorus: Go, tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere;
God, tell it on the mountain, that Jesus Christ is born.

While shepherds  kept their watching, o’er silent flocks by night,
behold throughout the heavens there shone a holy light.
Chorus

The shepherds feared and trembled when, lo! Above the earth
rang out the angel chorus that hailed our Savior’s birth.
Chorus
Down in a lowly manger the humble Christ was born,
and God sent us salvation that blessed Christmas morn.

Chorus

Hymn “Silent Night! Holy Night!”                      Miriam, Stephanie, Kathie, Chelsea

Silent Night! Holy night! All is calm, all is bright
‘round yon virgin mother and Child, holy infant so tender and mild,
sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night! Holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight,
glories stream from heaven afar, heavenly hosts sing al-le-lu-ia
Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born.

Silent night! Holy night! Son of God, love’s pure light,
radiant beams from thy holy face, with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth, Jesus Lord at thy birth.

Benediction (Blessing)                                                        Pastor Stephanie Schneider
